This past week has been a week where several things happened that in years past, I would have blogged about.
- A 6-year old boy got stuck in the elevator between the 2nd and 3rd floor of my building, and the elevator is just right outside my door...so the girls and I got to learn how to call the firemen, learned a little about French culture, and watched some very handsome heroes pull the tear-stained faced boy out of the elevator.
- I chopped my finger pretty badly with a new knife that I'd bought because I broke my last night right in half chopping a chocolate bar.
- The Mistral blew for 6 days straight and made my hair look like Medusa.
- The sewer exploded somewhere under our building and came up (yes, to the 3rd floor!) through our shower drain pipe, causing our shower to become in-usable.
But this past week was also one where I worked 70 hours. While this week looks to be a little less than that, I will still probably put in around 60. What little free time I do have is spent cleaning my house, buying my groceries, cooking my meals, and sleeping. (And now, going down the street to take a shower!) I haven't had time to pick up a book in the past 2 weeks...so sad. I certainly haven't had time to take any photos. And while last week proved to give a few "bloggable" moments, the truth is that most days nothing happens at all that gives me something to blog about.
And then I wouldn't have time to blog it if there was even something to tell! I'm sad about this, I confess. But I think from now until when I return to the USA (Sept 7), blogging is just going to have to be put on hold. I'm going to try to put up one post per month that tells something interesting from the month. So check back on the first of each month for a new post.
So...until March 1, friends--I appreciate you all!
