I guess I should have posted something to say I am back in Paris. I sort of forgot. I'm back in Paris! It was great to be back in the states. I enjoyed every minute of it. And suprisingly, once I'd gotten past the goodbyes, it wasn't hard to come back to Paris. While I was in VA and TN, it seemed surreal, like I'd never lived in Paris. Now that I'm back here, it seems surreal that I went to the states...did I? Was I actually there?
My credit card bill reminds me that I must have been.
My mom and Meme arrive in the city of light this Wednesday. And then I leave the city of light on June 3 for a whopping 11 weeks! I'll be spending the summer in Marseille. Yippee!
Not much else to say right now.

virginia is for lovers

I'm currently in Virginia for my friend Lanola's wedding. It's fun times. I'm off next week to see the Suits and toddler Schlomo and baby Sputnik. Then, back to Paree!
Here's a few completely random thoughts--

Here's a few completely random thoughts--
- The 5 dollar bill is purple?!
- Skittles come in chocolate flavor now?!
- Starbucks cups are currently brown and not green?!
- One forgets how big American cars are until you are away from them for awhile. I live in the land of Smart Cars and Mini Coopers. Now I'm in the land of Hummers, Jeeps, and other very big cars.
- Americans dress very casual.
- While I was very wide-eyed in NYC, I feel right at home in VA...like I never left.
Okay, off to wash my hair in the Virginia water that has always been so good for me. Seriously, I do love Virginia. And watching Lanola and her NavyMan...I believe the state slogan is true. :)

Top 10 of NYC

In honor of David Letterman, I now give you my Top 10 Favorite Things about NYC.
10. Chrysler Building--While not necessarily my favorite building altogether in NY (I didn't see them all, obviously), but it was, in my humble opinion, the prettiest skyscraper. It made me wonder why the Empire State Building was so famous. (But note: the ESB is #4 on the list!!!)
9. Signs--I took pictures of them everywhere. Probably, I took pictures of signs more than anything else. They will show up on the photoblog when I get around to it. My favorite, which I did not photograph, said, "Unnecessary noise prohibited." I want one of those.
8. Playing silly games with William like "Nanny Nanny Rich Kid"--only nerdfighters will understand, and William and I are both nerdfighters. We played NNRK alot, along with "giggle at people on the metro," and "see if bettercountry can name even half of the state capitals" (I could not), "name what movie was filmed at this spot," and "5 books."
7. Central Park/Botanical Gardens--Both were so equally beautiful and wonderful and wow.
6. Entertainers in the metro--Some rapper/poets were worthy of giving money (I did), as well as some break dancers at Union Square. Some others (druggies) were not worthy of giving money.
5. Cherry Blossoms--They were not only beautiful, but the leaves were all beginning to fall and it looked like pink snow falling and covering the ground.

VIP treatment at the Empire State Building--So William has a friend who goes to a college that is IN the ESB, and he has a special pass that not only got us half priced tickets...but we also got to skip ALL the lines, and go in special elevators, and made all the tourists wonder why we were getting to walk right pass them. It was AWESOME. Oh, and the view was great.
3. Belly Laughter with Friends--My oh my did William ever make me laugh so hard. One time, I actually began crying on the metro I was laughing so terribly hard. And another time, she literally got hit by a taxi driver. And that other time...well. Let's just say--we laughed.
2. Brooklyn--The Bridge, the Heights, Tom's Diner (as in Susanne Vega fame), Coney Island, lots of patriotism, and all the non-Caucasian people.
1. New Yorkers--They are AWESOME and INTERESTING. Nothing like what I thought. Insanely friendly. And funny.
And because I couldn't figure out where to put it on the list: the FOOD. I ate lots of HOT DOGS. At Coney Island, at Grey's Papaya, at a street vendor. You name it the place, I was eating a hot dog. I also ate Indian (overpriced) and Chinese (delivered at home in the little take out boxes), and drank Bubble Tea. The best--Cupcakes from Buttercup. Apparently, New Yorkers are crazy about cupcakes. The most famous place to get them is Magnolias, but the yummies ones are at Buttercup, which kept me singing "Build Me Up, Buttercup" the entire time I was in NYC...except for when I was singing "Super Trouper" by ABBA. Sometimes I forget just how much I love ABBA.
I heart NYC. I really, really do.
