So I walked out the bus stop today...and it wasn't there! I stopped dead in my tracks and just stared for a minute. Then I just kept spinning around looking in every direction...completely baffled.
I thought I was on one of those tv-camera-prank shows, and then would they feel ever-so-badly when the host came out to tell me it was a joke and found out I was an American, and well, it's just mean to pick on foreigners' cultural stupidities.
I stared at the spot where the bus stop used to be for a good 30 seconds and finally walked over to it. (And when I say bus stop, I mean the kind that is about 5 feet long, with a covering and a bench!) There was a sign taped to an electrical box that said to where it had been moved. I walked over to that street, and sure enough...there was the bus stop!
I checked the route of the bus and sure enough...they'd changed that too. This bus no longer went to where I needed it to go. Stink. I checked the route, pulled out my metro map and checked it, and finally figured out how I could get to my desired location. And I only arrived 15 minutes late.
But seriously? It was a little amusing to be do dumbfounded by a missing bus stop.

wow. that's hilarious. Do they move bus stops often in France? :-)
Well, construction is pretty normal, so the need to move a bus stop could be normal, yes. Except they aren't doing any construction near where the old bus stop used to be.
odd
